“First and foremost I would like to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for allowing me this opportunity and privilege in my life. I am writing this statement to inform everybody of my choice as to where I will play college football. I plan on graduating from Madison County High School in December of 2008 and enrolling at Florida State University in January of 2009. The chance to attend Florida State and play football for the Seminoles has been a lifelong dream of mine since I was a kid. The recruiting process has been fun and informative at the same time. I appreciate all the schools and coaches that have shown interest in me, but in the end, I just felt more comfortable and trust the staff at Florida State University the best. I would like to thank my mom and family for being there for me and supporting me through this, as well as my coaches, teachers, and most importantly my teammates at Madison County High School. With the recruiting out of the way, now I can turn my focus totally on helping the Cowboys repeat as the Class 2A State Champions next season. After that, I can turn my focus on helping the Seminoles get back on top of college football and putting the fear back in the spear, where it belongs.” -Jacobbi McDaniel, #5 ranked player in the nation, #1 in the state of Florida for the class of 2009 Tags: football, happy |

boo Who knew that being stuck in traffic on a Greyhound is even worse than being in your own car. I hope everyone's Christmas went swimmingly! |

Taylor from Kid Nation seemed destined to be the biggest bitch of 2007 reality tv.. but I think Bianca from ANTM has most certainly topped her. Every week she does something new to just blow you away. We're in the middle of watching tonight's (well, Wednesday's) episode so we can only hope that this is her last one. |

ugh I had started a crusade of hate on Crocs long before they were causing little kids' toes to be ripped off. The new target of my ire are the earmuffs that wrap around the back of the head. They're everywhere and cause me great consternation. I hope I spelled that right. |

The biggest difference between Chicago and Tallahassee isn't the fact that the lows are in the 40s this week..it's that people go crazy at concerts! Seriously, there was more energy from the fans at the Arctic Monkeys concert on Wednesday than every show in FL and GA I've ever been to..combined. Moshing at something other than Ozzfest? People jumping around? That's unheard of in the South! I had a blast -- shame about the beer that some dude spilled all over the new Threadless t-shirt I was wearing! (the only one I've ever been a huge fan of: http://www.threadless.com/product/847/D Alissa snuck off to the back while I was being crazy and like the sweetie she is, bought me one of their shirts. I'm so lucky! Well I'm lucky to have a wonderful girlfriend.. unlucky to have come down with a cold... should be sleeping right about now... One of these days I'll upload a TON of picturesto my Flickr that I hope at least one or two of you will look at. When I do, I'll link em up!o |

So, the selling point to my buying tickets to see Arctic Monkeys next month was that The Coral were supporting. I like them decently enough, but Alissa's a pretty big fan of theirs and that made up for the fact that she doesn't like the Arctics. Weeelllll... for some reason, they're out and now Voxtrot are in. She played some of their tunes for me when she was DJing as they were in rotation at some point and she likes them, but they're definitely not The Coral. What a bummer. On the bright side, I start work tomorrow at this architecture company called Wight and Co tomorrow. The position is only for a month, but apparently it could last longer. I'm a huge fan of architecture though, so if I could get something permanent there, that would be absolutely amazing. Cross your fingers for me! Tags: fun, music, work Current Location: home |

Zzzzzz... Seriously Bears fans... a little more originality please? We went to the Shedd Aquarium yesterday and the Bears had a preseason game at 7. Soldier Field is right next to it and honestly, 40% of the people we saw were wearing a Brian Urlacher jersey. Talk about played out. |

Holy cow -- I was just was reminded that Be Here Now is 10 today (well, going by it's UK release -- didn't make it here to the US until the 26th and of course back then you couldn't download it a month or two early so everything beyond D'You Know What I Mean was fresh to me until that date). It feels like it was just the other day I was 'celebrating' the 10th anniversary of Morning Glory. Time is seriously flying by these days... Tags: be here now, music, oasis |

Man.. every time I listen to a marathon session of oasis, I'm just floored that anyone could consider them less than a good band. When I hear people badmouth them -- I honestly just can't grasp it. It just makes me cock my head and think, huh? So many of their songs are timeless classics. Oh well, their (as in the people who dislike them.. but I suppose in oasis' case too) loss I suppose. I can't believe it's been about a month since my last post. Oops. We've been super busy here in Chicago.. I hadn't had much luck finding a job yet but had an interview with a temp agency on Friday that went well.. might have something for me as early as the beginning of next week! Cross your fingers for me. It's so nice to have cable internet, etc. again.. it was tough living without it. I've got a new phone number that I'll post a friends only post with it in it for those who are interested in getting my new digits. Look for some pics of our place once we've got everything unpacked and some of the stuff that Matt is letting us use out of storage and moved in. My new phone has access to LJ mobile, so I'll try and post from there every so often. |
